Shea Sweeney is a writer originally from Colorado. Her journalism, creative writing, and photography has appeared in The Reykjavik Grapevine, Westword, CPCJ Media Landscape, and Lovers and Other Strangers. She will begin an MFA in fiction at Columbia University in fall 2017. 

Last year Shea spent four months traveling America's small highways on foot, and is developing projects based on fieldwork from that time. She is interested in the possibilities and limitations of empathy. 

Shea experiments with genre and media, and currently interns with Peabody Award-winning radio producers, The Kitchen Sisters. Other projects are taking the form of screenplays and fiction.
