Kristiana Chan
Kristiana Chan is a multimedia artist, educator, surfeminist, writer, and photographer based in San Francisco, California. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a B.A. in Studio Art. A first generation Malaysian Chinese immigrant, her work explores the intersection of ancestry, healing, and mythology. Exploring a strong spiritual connection to nature, she untangles the myths and traumas of heritage, migration, and displacement while reclaiming the feminine identity and body within the Asian American diaspora. She has traveled extensively shooting documentary, landscape and adventure photography, and has taught storytelling and photojournalism in Nepal, Ecuador, and Argentina. Her work has been featured at the Omi Gallery (Oakland, CA), 1090 Gallery (SF), and The Flight Deck (Oakland, CA), START Gallery and Hane's Gallery (Winston-Salem, NC) as well as at the Fine Art Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Kristiana is a contributor to The Bold Italic and Misadventures Magazine.
