Chuck Hohng: To Grow Out of the Mud
Opening Reception: Friday December 13th 6-9pm
Gallery hours by appointment through December 28th
To Grow Out of the Mud, explores the footprint we leave behind, as well as repurpose and reuse of material. Chuck Hohng collects clothes that are too sentimental to donate, or not suitable for recycling through second-hand stores, and turn them into one-of-a-kind stuffed bears. Once loved clothes begin their lives anew as lasting art objects. Life does not need to end when you do not fit into the mold that was prescribed for you; we can always grow out of the mud, and lift ourselves above the murky water and bloom.
Each participant will receive one stuffed bear made from their clothing item. Please allow 1-2 months for deliver as these bears are being made custom.
25% of profits from artwork sales will be donated to support LGBTQIA+ Youth in Los Angeles
